4/17/18 – Senior Hearts Dog Rescue Awareness Day:  Our friends over at Senior Hearts Rescue and Renewal visited us for the first time to talk about their wonderful, life-saving efforts for senior dogs in need.  Recap: The members of Senior Hearts were really pleased with the interest that they received from all those that stopped by.  They were optimistic that several adoptions will result because of their appearance on this day.  They are positive that Sam, the loving English lab that was here, will be adopted very soon!  Besides for the potential adoptions, Senior Hearts was overwhelmed by the donations received and the interest in fostering that several people had.  The event was a success and we hope to have them back again, some time later in the year.  For more information on Senior Hearts, please visit their website: http://www.seniorhearts.org/

11/17/17 – 11/19/17 – Holiday Open House: Thanks to all that stopped by and helped to make this one of our most fun weekends all year. Recap: Hot cider and cookies were enjoyed by many. Our raffle winner for the Department 56 house was excited, so it was a win all the way around. We hope that you are all having a great start to the holiday season!

8/19/17 – Annual Adopt a Pet Day:  The Humane Rescue for Western PA was on-site for their annual adoption clinic.  The Forever Home Beagle Rescue as well as Golden Retrievers In Need were present as well.   Recap: We were excited to hear that both puppies as well as all 9 kittens that were here for the morning were adopted later on that day!  We thank all of you that stopped by to make this event a success.  We are very grateful for those that opened up their hearts and homes to welcome a new furry friend through adoption.  We look forward to doing this all again next summer!

7/9/17 – Big Green Egg Demo Day – 11 am to 2 pm:  Doug, our resident Big Egg Guru, was baking delicious pizzas out in the hot sun.  The pizzas were being cut up into perfect little sample cuts that everyone seemed to enjoy.  Recap:  We thank all that stopped by and we hope that you got a little better feel for how wonderfully the Big Green Egg can cook.  This "ultimate grill" can bake, sear, and smoke with the best of them!  We were also raffling off a YETI Tundra 45 cooler on this special day.  We got many entries as you would expect, and the lucky winner was picked on Monday.  They were a happy family and gracious for the free cooler!  We hope to host similar events and raffle giveaways in the future, so be sure to check back on our website for these announcements.

6/4/17 – The Peach Truck – 8 am to 10 am: The Peach Truck returned to our store for just one visit during 2017. These delicious Georgia Peaches were plucked from trees just days ago, and then rushed North for sale by the box! They are tree-ripe and super delicious. For more information on the Peach Truck, please visit their website. Recap: The lines were long and the skies were cloudy, but there were smiles all around as people waited in line for these Georgia peaches. The bad winter wiped out 90% of the farm’s freestone peaches, so the clean-stone peach was the offering this year! We hope that you were able to stop by this year and join us on this special day.

Recap: We were delighted to learn that 3 puppies were adopted this past weekend from the Humane Society. The attendance from all of you was fantastic and we thank you all that stopped by to make this event a huge success once again. Also, the Golden Retrievers in Need were excited to receive 3 applications from individuals looking to adopt a Golden Retriever from their shelter. We hope that leads to another 3 adoptions in the local area!! Big thanks for all of those that attended, to those that donated, and for the groups that help support this day at our store. We can’t wait to do it all again next August.
