5/29/2023 - Hot Dog Sale to Benefit Veterans and Restore22:

This was an unbelievable day and the support of everyone in attendance was amazing!  Restore22 was on-site and was able to talk about their mission and their passion for creating a community to benefit local veterans, right here in Pittsburgh.  Donation amounts in excess of the hot dog sale were much appreciated and everything is being donated to Restore22 and their cause.  To learn more about Restore22, please visit their website.

7/09/2022 (Saturday) - Big Green Egg Demo, Millie's Food Truck:  The pizzas from the grill and the ice cream from Millie's were a delicious combination.  We thank all of those that stopped by to talk about grilling, pizzas, ice cream and what they like best about BBQ'ing.  We sell Big Green Eggs all year-round and support them with a large in-store display.  Stop by if you are in the market for one, it is a lifetime grill made to do-it-all!

05/30/22 - Memorial Day Hot Dog (and Donut) Sale:  Thank you to all that stopped by to make this event a success.  We didn't sell as many hotdogs as usual, but the turnout was still great and sold about 250 hotdogs in just a few hours.  We look forward to hosting this fundraising event once again next year.  Proceeds from this event were donated to C9 for Warriors.

07/10/21 and 08/07/21 – Peach Truck: All orders for 2021 will once again be pre-sold, which will make pickup a breeze. Purchase your peaches online for one of two visits to Pittsburgh this year. Pickups were moved to Saturday Mornings instead of Sunday. Recap: All customers were inside our parking lot and in line for all of a couple of minutes. That to all of those that stopped by our location to purchase peaches this year!

11/14/20 – 11/15/20 – Holiday Open House:   Our open house was moved up one week this year and out ahead of MTL virtual light-up night.  A huge thanks to Sarris Candies for providing individually wrapped pretzels as our handout this year!  What a great treat to enjoy with a warm beverage back at home (if it even made it that far :)   Recap: It was a busy weekend but not too busy, as so many customers looked to get a jump-start on their holiday decorating.  It was a busy weekend but not too busy, as so many customers looked to get a jump-start on their holiday decorating.

6/28/2020 and 17/19/2020 – Peach Truck (preorders only): Like most things, the Peach Truck had to revise there procedure for 2020 and it went off without a hitch! We were one of the first locations to sell out in the entire country with preorders flooding into for these delicious peaches. Recap: All peach sales were pre-sold, so customers were inside our parking lot and in line for all of a couple of minutes. That to all of those that stopped by our location to purchase peaches this year!

10/17/19 – Pups, Pints, and Pizza:  We partnered with Bado's Pizza and Hitchhiker Brewing to bring Bado's Pups and Pints event to our parking lot.  This was unlike anything that we have done before, but we were very pleased with the attendance on this cold and windy night.  Lots of dogs attended, which made it a fun social scene, along with the pizza and beer, of course.  Proceeds from the event benefited PAART (Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team), which is a group committed to rescuing dogs that are set to be euthanized from out-of-town shelters and bringing them to shelters in Pittsburgh and other areas that can provide the necessary for them these dogs to find a new FUR-ever home.  For more information on this group, please visit their website: PAART

8/24/19 – Annual Adopt a Pet Day:  The Humane Animal Rescue was present for their annual adoption clinic, and all of the kittens at the event were adopted and one dog was adopted as well. Going Home Greyhounds and Golden Retrievers in Need were both very happy with all of the recognition that they received from the event and had several people planning to make trips to their venues for more information. 6/30/19 – The Peach Truck:  The Peach Truck returned for their 1st visit of 2019 on this bright and sunny morning. The turnout was larger than we have ever had, it was quite possibly the largest that the Peach Truck has ever had!  Thanks to everyone that stopped by.  Over 1300 boxes of peaches were sold on this day.  The Peach Truck returned on July 21, and once again sold out of Peaches, but this time right at the 10 am deadline.  We talked to many people that stopped for the Peach Truck for the very first time on this day, so that was exciting.  We hope that everyone that showed up enjoyed the experience and enjoyed the peaches!  For information on the Peach Truck and recipe ideas, please visit their website here

6/8/19 - Weber Grill Demo:   Join us for our annual Weber grill cookout from 11am - 2pm.  Recap: Jeremy was cooking up a storm as usual; he had perogies, quesadillas, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and pizza all cooking up on the grill.  We love when Jeremy is so creative on the grill because it really shows you that you can cook anything you would would typically do on the stove or in the oven on a Weber barbecue.  Just simply place a baking dish in the grill for pizza or cookies, or place a cast iron skillet inside to sauce perogies or quesadillas.  We appreciate all that stopped by to "taste the difference" that a Weber can make!

5/27/19 - Memorial Day Hot Dog Sale:  Following the annual South Hills Memorial Day Associations parade, we will have grilled hot dogs and cool drinks ready for a small price. 100% of the money taken in will be donated to the Gary Sinise Foundation. Stop by with the whole family and grab a delicious grilled hot dog and drink for just $2.00.  Recap: We sold 420 hot dogs and raised $1000 for the Gary Sinise Foundation. We thank everyone that stopped by to support this great cause with a dog! There were many individuals that donated extra monies, so we appreciate those donations very much! We look forward to keeping this tradition alive year after year!

6/16/18 – Big Green Egg Demo Day:  Doug, our resident Big Egg Guru, was baking delicious pizzas.  Recap: We thank all that stopped by and we hope that you got a little better feel for how wonderfully the Big Green Egg can cook. This "ultimate grill" can bake, sear, and smoke with the best of them!

6/9/18 - Broil King Demo:  Doug and Justin will demonstrate the Broil King Regal gas grill.  These grills are tops in quality and are proudly made in the USA.  Recap: Doug and Justin from Broil King were cooking all sorts of tasty bites, including hot wings, quesadillas, grilled pineapple, sausage and more.  The rain stayed away and it was a fun event.  See you all for our next cookout!

4/17/18 – Senior Hearts Dog Rescue Awareness Day:  Our friends over at Senior Hearts Rescue and Renewal visited us for the first time to talk about their wonderful, life-saving efforts for senior dogs in need.  Recap: The members of Senior Hearts were really pleased with the interest that they received from all those that stopped by.  They were optimistic that several adoptions will result because of their appearance on this day.  They are positive that Sam, the loving English lab that was here, will be adopted very soon!  Besides for the potential adoptions, Senior Hearts was overwhelmed by the donations received and the interest in fostering that several people had.  The event was a success and we hope to have them back again, some time later in the year.  For more information on Senior Hearts, please visit their website: http://www.seniorhearts.org/

4/16/16 – Jonathan Green and the New American Lawn: An educational day filled with a bunch of questions and answers, not to mention perfect weather for getting a start on your lawn this spring. Recap: The President of the Jonathan Green company helped customers in our lawn and garden department throughout the afternoon and provided us all with some great information! The New American Lawn program is the only lawn fertilizer program that feeds both your lawn and your SOIL. This is the new and improved way to look at lawn care and building a lawn that is green and sustainable, year after year. Stop in to our store to learn more, or visit the Jonathan Green website.
