Were were not too surprised to see these winners, because we are confident that both Miele and Bissell are committed to making quality products with exceptional value. Here is our "two cents" regarding these vacuums and why they were picked as the winners in each category.

Best Upright Vacuum: Miele Dynamic U1 Cat and Dog Upright. This award is really honoring all of the Miele Uprights, because there are more similarities than differences between one model and the next in the Miele Dynamic U1 Upright series. However, the Cat and Dog is the top of the line and offers LED headlights and an active Hepa filter with charcoal to help trap all pet odors inside the vacuum so that they don't get pushed back into the air.

So many of our customers looking for a top of the line vacuum are doing so because they have pets or other high demand situations and Miele is your go-to when it comes to high performance units that can handle some big messes! Their uprights are quite nimble because of their SwivelNeck design that allows for easy turning and for slithering under tables and sofas. All Miele uprights offer 4 suction levels and a beater bar that can be quickly turned on or off depending on the surface that you are vacuuming. Turn the electric power head on when vacuuming all types of carpeting. Turn the electric power head to off when vacuuming hard surface floors such as hardwood or tile. Best Affordable Upright Vacuum: Bissell Cleanview Upright. Priced just below $90, you really can not go wrong with the Bissell Cleanview Upright series. These vacuums have loads of functions, including the abilities to clean all types of surfaces. They even come standard with a mini brush head for upholstery, stairs and automobile seats. They also come standard with a crevice tool and a dusting brush to effectively clean all hard-to-reach surfaces. To add even greater value, all Bissell vacuums are now bagless models, so there is no need to pay for expensive vacuum bags!

Best Canister Vacuum: Miele Complete C3 Kona. In terms of features and price, the Miele Kona canister vacuum is in the middle of the Complete C3 line-up from Miele. All Miele Complete canisters come with exceptional filtration thanks to a completely sealed system, and multi layered filter bag, a premotor filter, and a HEPA exhaust filter. The Kona is such a great option because it comes standard with Miele's large turbo head and their super-knibble parquet twister head. Between these two floor tools, you can adapt to any type of flooring or carpeting! Since Miele vacuums have a life expectancy of more than 15 years, this vacuum will often go with you to your next home; so the Miele Kona really has no limits. It is great at picking up pet hair while still being gentle on delicate surfaces. The large power head is perfect for bigger rooms and spaces as well! The Miele Kona starts at $899, but all of the Complete C3 vacuums offer you the same suction controls, accessory tools, and superior performance that you expect from Miele.

I know that vacuums are not the most exciting topic for many of us, but when you are talking about quality and value, it appears that Miele and Bissell are doing something right! We are not surprise, because our customer feedback that we receive from both of these brands is really great.
